Ragnarok Online, Simply Classic

Ragnarok Online, an MMORPG filled with nostalgic memories for me and my friends since 12 years ago. Gone were the good old Penril and Iris days, but private servers are here to rekindle nostalgia of this classic 2D 3D game.

Daisuke Salon De Coiffure – A New Personal Fave

I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about this salon, so I figured it was high time I checked the place out for myself. A quick glance at the address tells me that it is way nearer than my usual salon for a ‘hair-over’ so that a plus point for me!

Driving there was relatively painless, though I heavily relied on my Waze to bring me there. Parking on the other hand, was a pain. It took me two panicked rounds (the guards were no help lol) to realize that I can only make a semi-full round once I entered the open-air carpark before I’m forced to go down below to the Basement parking (which is yet another maze I couldn’t puzzle). Can’t say that I’m the only one who suffered this though, cause I happened to see two-three cars faltering to a stop when they encountered the sudden ‘entrance’ to the basement haha. But that’s just me, griping about it.

Daisuke Salon de Coiffure @ Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

I don’t really have much photos this time, cause my focus wasn’t too much on taking photos. But one thing I really have got to commend this salon is that they sure know how to make one feel extra comfy and right at home!

Seating is unconventional, especially for people like me who’s rather used to the ‘barber shop’ chair style. Instead of resting your feet on two ‘pedals’ stationed below the chair as per norm, each area is given a footstool. Choose whether you want to use it for your feet or *cough* your bag. There’s also a side table for other needs, like putting down your glasses and a hot drink, complimentary of course 😉

if you’re uncomfortable sitting amidst a bunch of people, there’s also private rooms where each section is partitioned off with soft curtains that obscures the prying eyes. I was fine where I was then so it doesn’t matter much to me. To top it off, I met an old friend I had not seen since his wedding a couple of years ago! Small wonder he recognized me when I barely recognized him lol.

You can choose your hairstylist by the way. I selected Amanda based on Arisa‘s recommendation and I admit I like her way of thinking! No hardsell whatsoever, and I sincerely detest those who attempts to shove a whole big bunch of products that are supposedly ‘good for my skin and hair’ down my throat (and wallet!). Not only that, she taught me simple steps in maintaining my hair with minimal to absolutely NO hair styling products involved. Amazing, eh?

Oh one thing I really got to talk about (but didn’t have photos of it cause it was rather dark) is the ‘washing’ station. Brick walls were used as partition between each station, which is perfect if you’re the type who just wants to immerse in the massage and scrub on your scalp. Plus, no noisy chatter! It somehow manages to turn the environment volume down somewhat.

Before and After photo of my hair

Before: faded, somewhat ill-kept hair with loads of split ends
After: well trimmed, soft and supple hair with a dark purple colour treatment.

What I did based on recommendation

  • Hair trimming (needed one so badly heh)
  • Scalp treatment with CO2 water (highly recommended. I’m pretty sure you’ll love this as much as I do. I call this the scalp jacuzzi spa 😀 )
  • Colour Treatment in Purple (it’s obvious under direct sunlight, but not when it’s dark)

What I plan to go for in future

  • Hair trimming (this needs to be a routine!)
  • Scalp or hair treatment, I’m not sure which just yet. But I definitely want the CO2 hair treatment again for sure!

Affordable. Fashionable. Hooked.

Being a thrifty shopaholic, I’m always on the lookout for great deals, bargain buys, and ‘worth it’ apparels. And trust me, nothing says awesome more than Hook Clothing.

For those who have been around long enough to recall the days of ‘blogshops’ this online boutique may sound familiar to you as “Tanks For 5” instead. Yep, they have rebranded themselves as they are now catering for more than just RM5 tank tops.

I once wrote about the top five shopping sites to look out for based on my own personal experience and review and guess what? I’m still raving about them now!

I had tons of fun buying from the website, and their services are quite efficient as well!
My last purchase with them was during the infamous Black Friday sales. Or, as they put it, Black FriYAY sales 😀 items were going off super cheap, and they even threw in a couple of freebies for those who managed to grab them off the website. I did snag a few myself; wasn’t too keen on snagging ALL cause well, I’m just not that mean hahahahaha.

I was amazed that delivery was quite speedy, considering that sales day tend to be over-clogged with hoards of women attempting to buy the whole shop down! But I got my package in less than a week. Kudos to the folks at Hook Clothing! 😀

Affordable Fashionable Clothing Apparels from Hook Clothing Online Blog Shop

The staff were exceptionally sweet on this. I had 22 items in my shopping cart (crazy, I know) and apparently it couldn’t fit their packaging paper well. So it was all folded up in one huge bag and then stuffed into the delivery pack.

Personally, I have no issues with it. As long as my items arrive safe and sounds it’s all good to me! But thanks for the sweet note all the same 🙂

One thing I’d like to highlight here is that most apparels at Hook Clothing cater for the Small to Medium-Small body sizes. It breaks my heart to say this but most of their tops couldn’t fit me well at the moment. I’m taking it as a challenge to work out and slim down but until then..*sobs*

Can’t say that I cannot completely fit into them, cause I can. But my unsightly blobs will be jutting out hahahahaha. So I’d rather not.

That said, loose flowing tops and their racerback tops are still fine! I have lost track on the amount of tank tops I have bought from them over the past few years (I love these tops) and they’re still pretty awesome! If you’re not sure whether the tank top suits you, just drop them a message seeking for fashion advice. I’m sure they’re willing to help out however they can 🙂

My personal advise would be to check carefully what fabric is being used for the tank top. My favourite are stretchy cotton and ribbed cotton so far!

Here’s one of the tops I had bought over the crazy Sale Day: High Neck Draped Back Tee.

Sadly, it’s no longer available. A pity, I would’ve loved to purchase more of this. It’s certainly a really nice loose flowy soft cotton top to wear over a hot sunny day!

Here’s me attempting to pose with the top (unglam shot cause I wasn’t able to wear makeup then due to a minor skin recovery on my face)

Hook Clothing : An online shop specializing in latest fashion tops, dresses, bottoms and indie accessories

My back felt so breezy! Hahahahaha 😛 It is still a modest top, and I would suggest pairing this up with a caged bralette or a sports bra to avoid showing off your bra hooks (unless you want to that is!) to the whole wide world when the wind blows your way. But honestly though, best buy yet!

I have tried on other tops too, like for example the Chiffon Backwing Top that I wore during the Kancil Awards night. Paired it with a pair of black palazzo pants and heeled pumps; I’m all set for the night! 😀

Hello random #OOTD selfie from the typical ladies room \o/ image is pretty crap but you get the #OOTD idea hahahaha 😛

Now for the awesome possum part. If you haven’t bought anything from Hook Clothing yet, you are entitled to a 10% off from your purchase now! No strings attached 😀

Simply key in this code: silvennia before you Check Out to redeem this lovely discount.

Bear in mind, though, that this only applies to first time users. So if you are in throes of despair because you had forgotten to buy extra tank tops in your previous purchase, it is time to hunt down ‘first timers’ to be the buyer!

What are you waiting for? Happy Shopping y’all!

GangsteRock ‘Kasi Sengat” : A Movie Review

A Guest Review by Mogi (Rage)

Never have I seen an absolute garbage that is beyond comprehension. GangsteRock ‘Kasi Sengat’ is a movie by Soffi Jikan; an amazing actor but as a director…well. I can’t help but to point out the flaws almost throughout the entire movie. It has a stellar cast of amazing actors, but the film sucked. Why does the film suck? The poster sucks. The trailer sucks. Are they trying to hard or is it just plain lazy suckiness?

The editing was horrible, the cinematography is horrible, not to mention the audio editing is so fail, you can’t hear SQUAT SHIT what the fuck they are talking about. The color grading isn’t even properly done. VFX is so obvious a cut out mess. Things go left and right for no reason because the editing left a lot of plot holes and unresolved situations. The opening sequence is quickly shown in 2 minutes, complete with credits to who directed it. The editing was so fast its hard to grasp what was what. There’s this one moment they went to a mansion, and then they get out, with no explanation why do they went there and do what? Guess what? This is the final cut, it was as is, in frickin DVD, and cinemas.

They have flashback scenes but I can’t even tell if its a flashback, wrong color correction. One time they are at the city, then to kampung, I thought the guy went ‘balik kampung terus’, then they cut back to him in the same position at the city, then I realized, oh, it was supposed to be a flashback.

So what’s the story about? A guy who wants to be a rockstar getting caught in some gangster shit, I do not know why, because I can’t hear the dialogue. The flow was bad, there were scenes that were like non-existent; trying to brain the plot just killed my brain cells. There’s nothing more to say. That’s honestly what I can grasp from seeing it. Oh wait, here’s one, the guy who wants to be a rockstar picks a fight with gangsters, who represent… Jazz music. Um, what? And there’s no Jazz music either. There’s barely any ‘Rock’ singing performances in this movie, despite the title Gangsterock.

Acting wise? Well, I honestly had to say them actors participated in a horrible movie that puts their acting level close to the drain. Its nothing great. No matter how experienced they are, the characterization was too bad to handle. There was a scene where the bad guys firing a gun and the actors reacted with an… ok meh, kind of reaction. ITS A FUCKING GUN, ITS LOUD, act properly damnit!!! The characters also kept jumping from bad to good, I just honestly don’t feel to symphatize with anyone in this film. Oh, they have cameos from Chef Wan to… Zaiton Sameon!? Oh my, she’s a legend and her singing was awesome back in the 80’s 90’s… and it was severely bad in this movie. Its so bad, I don’t even recognize who is this person.

Fuck this movie.

This is the one film I kept putting my hands up in the air going, “What the fuck is this shit?!”. Its so bad and incomprehensible that this review became short because there’s nothing to talk about. In short, this is PURE SHIT.

My ratings for this film? How about buried deep below the crust of earth to the point this film doesn’t exist, that’s like -10 along the y-axis. Yes, a -10 out of 10. That’s how low it can go, it can go deeper of course, any way you want it and it’ll be a zero.

I rate this movie –10/10 overall.
