STEAMed – Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley by ConcernedApe
Welcome to Stardew Valley!

I’ve seen this game making its rounds in social shares over the past week now, be it on Facebook or Twitter, and trust me, it certainly caught my attention!

I still remember the days when I had gotten my very first handheld game console: Nintendo DS. It was a birthday gift to myself, and I had tons of fun selecting various games to try out (based on friends’ recommendations as well I might add). Obviously Pokemon was one of the first few that I’d immediate boot up in my handheld game console. But other games that I had tried (and loved) are either puzzle games or farming (?) games like Professor Layton, Phoenix Wright, Animal Crossing, and Harvest Moon.

Anyway, we’re not here to reminiscence about my younger years.

My attraction to this game was in two-folds. First, this game was conceptualized and developed by one person over the span of four years. That alone had my attention as I scanned through review after review about this game. Secondly, if you’re into Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, or even Rune Factory (which were all handheld game console games only, sadly enough), then you’ll definitely love this.

Though the concept isn’t exactly new, storyline is relatively refreshing. Now I have not played any handheld game console games in a long while now, so my apologies if I sound fascinated by certain features that you’d probably shrug and exclaim, “Duh, [game title] has that feature too!”.

Such a boring yet rustic house

The story goes like this:

You’ve inherited your grandfather’s old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won’t be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town’s most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness!

~Stardew Valley

tl;dr you got bored with city life, so why not try farming instead?

It’s pretty cool that I can customize/personalize my own character, such as hair (and colour), eye colour, skin colour, top, and bottom (and colour). You’re also given a choice between getting a Dog or a Cat (for later parts in game) and you’ve gotta write down your “Likes”. I chose birds for that I think. Not entirely sure what that is about.

Expect some quests along the way as well. Trust me, you’ll get the weirdest quests ever. I’m currently requested to hunt for the Mayor’s purple underpants that he had so (in)conveniently left somewhere, and found it way to embarrassing to ask for anyone’s help but me LOL.

Events are pretty neat, though sad to say, chances of you getting a partner can be pretty dismal at first.

Honestly, I was torn between cringing in embarrassment and laughing my foolishness away as I went from one person to another hoping to get a dance date for the Flower dance. Oh well, I guess it’s just not my luck!

Spot le sad me

Meanwhile, I’m alternating my days between farming, clearing up my farm, foraging (gleefully!) and mining/combat. It sure takes up a lot of time, and you can be sure your Energy level will drop faster than you can cry “Stardew Valley!”. Especially if you’re woodcutting or breaking rocks.

Oh and before I forget, there’s this old forgotten Community Hall that the depressed Mayor would like to restore one day. But he cannot decide whether he should restore it or just sell off Pelican Town to the conglomerate (who’s been harassing him to sell, no duh). Guess whose job is it to help repair Pelican Town on top of faming, mining and whacking slimes in the mines?

Give them sprites enough presents and you’ll get yourself a nice Greenhouse one day

Music in the gameplay is pretty good, though I wish there were more options to the songs. Especially when I’m at the bar’s jukebox. I must admit that I find it tough trying to upgrade my equipment on top of getting myself a kitchen (to cook) and building a barn. Imagine, 10,000 gold for a kitchen! And I’m earning approximately 400g per day if I’m lucky hahahaha. It’s not easy, but the challenge sure makes it fun. That said, I admit I’m a lousy strategy player so this could be my own personal problem here.

Steam Stardew Valley indie game
Wait, what’s a hat mouse?

My verdict?

It’s a pretty fun game to play. Design is decent, and you definitely won’t run out of things to do in this game. I’m aware that some may complain that this is a ‘grindy’ sort of game, but have no fear! If you’re feeling bored, take up the requests challenge that is time-sensitive or go down the mines and see how far can you accomplish before time/hp/energy runs out.

My biggest gripe is the fishing bit. I find it rather difficult trying to score a catch because my mouse isn’t sensitive enough (or so I think anyway). So fishes are gleefully swimming around cause I’m ignoring them lol.

Stardew Valley is available on Steam for RM31 as of now.

Behind the Scenes: Tommy Tallarico & Eimear Noone

Pre – Video Games Live 2016

We had gotten lucky. Real lucky. Imagine securing a quick session with the two stars of VGL to talk about anything we’d like to talk about. Featuring Tommy Tallarico, founder of Video Games Live, and Eimear Noone, a talented conductor whose portfolio includes conducting every single Blizzard entertainment games music and also the one that Nintendo had requested to conduct the Legend of Zelda 2015 anniversary as well as the 25th anniversary concert.

It was fun having this little chat with these two incredibly talented, friendly and down-to-earth people. Watch these two videos on our casual chit-chat with both Tommy and Eimear and you’ll see what I mean about their bigger-than-life personality 🙂

Videos are unedited by the way!

Meet & Greet : Tommy Tallarico

How do you obtain the rights to perform certain pieces of music from different games?

When i first started VGL back in 2002, people thought I was crazy. They told me that people who go to a symphony don’t play video games, and vice versa. So i say OK, give me full rights to the music then and you won’t have to wory about it.

What drives you even further to perform every year?

It’s passion. My two greatest loves growing up has always been videos games and music. Growing up in 70s, I never thought of putting these two together until I was about 10-11 years old. I’d head over to the store and record all my fave sounds in music using my dad’s tape recorder. Then I’d invite my neighborhood friends over and put on mock video game shows using a guitar, the tape recorder and TV.

Meet & Greet : Eimear Noone

How do I pronounce your name?

It’s “Ee-mur” like lemur, like femur…it’s not that hard if you don’t think about the way it’s spelled.

(As we spoke about fantasy games and swords…)

Speaking of swords, guess who have to work with swords every day? *laughs* Of all of my batons, I was contacted by a baton maker (PaGu baton) who wanted to make a signature baton for the signature artist (me). But just putting a signature on it (baton) is kinda boring…I don’t even want my own name on my own baton. For me, the famous baton of all time is the Wind Waker from The Legend of Zelda. When I used to conduct music for the Legend of Zelda I’d tell the audience, “Come on every body, let’s wake the winds!” So now on my signature baton, it says “Wake the Winds”.

My first adventure

Stadium Negara: What’s a Car Park?
Saved myself trouble by parking at Sri Rampai instead, which cost me a flat rate of RM2 for the whole day. From there, I took the LRT over and got off at the Hang Tuah LRT station. Pretty thankful that I had decided this route of action, especially after listening to the horror stories that others had to face like getting summons, con jobs, and there was even a case of a car getting rammed by a truck…YIKES! D:

An interesting array of food trucks and other gourmet food offered at VGL KL 2016

Pre-Concert: Decent Food
There was an impressive amount of food trucks available, though the set up was a little weird as some were stationed RIGHT in front of the entrance hall while the majority of food and drinks vendors were sent to set up their wares at the back of the stadium. Walk back and forth took extra effort, especially since the Malaysian weather is… SWELTERING! Nevertheless, there were tables and chairs provided and it was a pleasant experience having our meals under the tents surrounded by trees when we got there. Variety was good and the prices were pretty decent.

Preparing the concert hall for the big show. Go go go Video Games Live KL!

Video Games Live: The Concert Hall
I felt that the hall itself was a wee bit too big which had affected the overall ‘feel’ of some of the songs performed. Some really did hit the right notes, though others fell a little flat. Personally, I strongly feel that the acoustics would have been better suited for a smaller hall instead. This was exceptionally obvious to me during the performance for Metal Gear Solid. I’m a huge fan of this game (and its soundtrack) but the song performed did not give me the goose bumps that I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy it. But it did not move me as much as the Zelda and Chrono Cross segments of the performance. For the songs involving the choir in the back, I could hardly hear them and couldn’t tell if they were a part of the score…or on standby until the theme for World of Warcraft was played. But again, I don’t blame the performers; it’s mostly to do with the venue itself.

Seating was alright, although there were some problems for a couple of my friends. I heard that when it had started raining, it quickly became a huge downpour! Some concert-goers had gotten slightly drenched by the rain that blew in from some leaky parts of the stadium. I admit the stadium itself is structurally old, but surely some measures could have been taken to avoid that considering the weather did look gloomy when we still had daylight.

A Performance Worth Watching
Going off-tangent for a bit; I cried buckets during the Legend of Zelda music performance. I admit I’m an emotional person and there are moments where I would feel overwhelmed and weep when things get out of hand. But when it comes to music, there has been very few occasions I’ve been introduced to music that have had moved me to tears. Eímear Noone and the rest of the performers had moved me to that point. The music just flowed through me, along with the visuals that was playing behind them on-screen. With those two combined, they were enough to trigger a lot of memories, emotions, feelings from past experiences. Reminding me of the times when I would boot up Legend of Zelda games on my Gameboy. It had all spiralled up until suddenly, I couldn’t take it anymore. I cried. It was so beautiful. I simply can’t put into words how good it felt. The closest that I can describe it is that it felt like I was meeting an old friend I haven’t seen in a long while and bringing them really close for a hug. A pleasant and warm sensation indeed. Just being there for that ONE song on its own was worth any setback or problem faced for the day. TOTALLY WORTH IT!

All in all, it was a good first experience. I will definitely give VGL another go when they come back the next time. Hopefully, the concert will get a better venue or at least, iron out the troublesome kinks that concert goers had to face this time around.

Galaxy Drops

I haven’t been blogging much about the craft works that I have done, so why not start the new year with one? Though I believe I’m somewhat late for the ‘New Year’, well….better late than never eh? 😛

Recently I’ve been working my sorry behind nonstop as and when I am able to (Chinese New Year preparations are always a killer on a yearly basis) on this craft project because I am attending a craft bazaar as a vendor. *gasp*

Even so, I haven’t managed to finish much. I’m pretty happy with the results (first few tries were FASHION MELTDOWN DISASTERS) in the end, though I wish I have more materials to work with too.

Handmade glass cabochon charms that resembles miniature galaxy

These charms are pretty tiny; approximately 15mm in diameter?  Each ‘drops’ design is one of a kind (because conformity is boring) and I had so much fun playing around with the colour combinations!

2016-02-05 02.45.53

Personally I think the fun part about making this charms is that I can do whatever I want with it. If I’m not into ‘bling blang’ necklaces, having this linked charm is the perfect subtlety I can have for a simple necklace. Can’t stand having too many ‘jangles’ on your wrist? Link this charm (or charms) with a simple chain strand and you have yourself a decent bracelet 😀

2016-02-17 04.08.32

Sadly, I don’t have enough chains to make a whole bunch of bracelets/necklaces. So I resorted to using suede leather as my bracelet medium. Turned out pretty well surprisingly. Loving the ‘teenage-y’ look, if you get what I mean.

2016-02-05 02.47.48

Imagine having miniature galaxies bedecking your style!

Galaxy Drops will be sold at The Craft Affair happening at Main Place USJ this weekend (20 & 21 February 2016). I’ll be partnering TinyPinc Miniatures for this, so do swing by if you’re free! Please note, however, that the both of us will only be there on Saturday 20 February 2016.

Mixed Martial Arts : “Super Hero Fight Out”

An interesting new addition to the event, certainly. MMA enthusiasts, rejoice! And if you’re a fan of super heroes this will definitely sweeten the deal for you. Tune Talk is bringing in this caged fight to the grounds of Video Games Live this year.

If you’re like me who’s wondering whether this will be kid-friendly (family event, remember?) the fret not! These fights are basically ‘for demonstrations only’ so you can chill out and have fun watching the ‘Live Action’ fight scene.

Extra: Tune Talk subscribers will also get a special 15% discount on concert tickets (except for Moat, Maze & VIP Experience). Head over to for more info! 😀

Full Broadband Access

We’ve all experienced horrible connectivity issues when it comes to extremely crowded spaces in the past. This year, P1 will be providing the event with high speed broadbamd in and around Stadium Negara. So no fear of a sudden loss of Internet connectivity when you’re about to upload that important photo on Instagram of Facebook or even Twitter 😀

Charge Up with Redbull!

Have fun with tons and tons of Redbull (don’t overdo it though!) at their Chieftain truck and other simulators. The truck alone is worth checking out, for it’s like a mini Transformer on its own (or so I’ve been told). Imagine watching a truck transform into a mobile entertainment platform with its own stage, screens, speakers, and a DJ! Whoa :O

Oh yeah, the energy drinks are the imported ones too. Get them at a special price on that day – twinpack for RM12 or 6 cans for RM32. On normal days, these imported cans would cost approximately RM10 at any events and RM7 at any retail outlets.

Now here comes the unfortunate news…

Jillian Aversa, renowned singer and Video Games Live soloist, as well as a famed singer on video games soundtracks like Halo and God….won’t be attending Video Games Live in KL this year due to health difficulties 😦 Here’s to wishing her a speedy recovery all the same!

Ragnarok Online, Simply Classic

I remember the good old days when I first joined this MMORPG. Fascinated by the job classes offered, my younger self was bedazzled by the endless joys of meeting new friends and leveling up together.

Oddly enough, I can still recall the very first RO Guild I joined, the first character I had created, and the numerous hours invested in this game that had lasted throughout teenage years when the Malaysian server was still Free to Play. Azure Legionnaire was my guild, and guild leaders were Stalvros and Fate. I was an acolyte and was brought to Glast Heim to level up by my two guild mates (hunter & max level swordie).

I watched as Ragnarok Online progressed over time, seeing new updates in storyline, maps and job classes. Though I played the game on and off (I have a horribly short attention span lol!) by the end of the day I cannot let go of the game that had invoked far too many childhood memories for me.

Ragnarok Online Third Job Class

Fast forward a couple of years later, I started playing RO with friends I got to know through Comic Fiesta. And from there the story just kept on progressing. I had so much fun playing this MMORPG that I even started planning my cosplay projects around them!

Ragnarok Online Cosplay - Chibi Blacksmith and Assassin Cross
Chibi Blacksmith (official illustration version) and Assassin Cross, both from Ragnarok Online

Definitely loads of fun, though crafting the equipment was a pain! Worth it, but whoa the pain!

Even now in the year 2016, I’m still susceptible to the ‘Ragnarok Online’ nostalgia. Which is why I started playing RO once again, only this time on a different Private Server called Dreamer RO. Tons of fun, interesting quests and mini games, and all in all a cool place to be at. Some may scoff, for there’s quite a fair bit of ‘shortcuts’ as they may put it. But for me, it’s the gameplay that makes it fun. I’m a tad bored right now though, cause no one’s in game with me just yet. But solo-ing can be pretty cool, even if I would die frequently under the hands of MVPs hahaha 😛

Dreamer RO

My fave job classes so far would be the Wanderer and Creator, and it’s in my plans to cosplay Wanderer one day. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to do that eventually! (it is time to work out and eat smart)

An interesting concept in this private server is that you’re giving ‘mercenary tickets’ that will aid you in leveling up fast in a custom map called “Death Map”. I’m not kidding about the speed of leveling; I attained my Mechanic (Novice > Merchant > Blacksmith > High Novice > High Merchant > Whitesmith > Mechanic) in less than an hour! All thanks to the help of the mercenary spearman and this map.

Of course, what’s the fun in that? Hahaha 😛 as soon as you hit the max level (500 base, 120 job) there’ll be another goal to achieve: Hero level. I won’t spoil too many details here (check out the game for yourself!) but I am quite daunted by the long list of items needed to achieve this status. And the amount of zeny needed (1 bil zeny to ensure a promising victory to defeat a certain MVP for this quest). So if you think life will be boring after you’ve achieved the max level in this game, think again 😛

Have I whetted your RO-ppetite yet? 🙂

Daisuke Salon De Coiffure – A New Personal Fave

I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about this salon, so I figured it was high time I checked the place out for myself. A quick glance at the address tells me that it is way nearer than my usual salon for a ‘hair-over’ so that a plus point for me!

Driving there was relatively painless, though I heavily relied on my Waze to bring me there. Parking on the other hand, was a pain. It took me two panicked rounds (the guards were no help lol) to realize that I can only make a semi-full round once I entered the open-air carpark before I’m forced to go down below to the Basement parking (which is yet another maze I couldn’t puzzle). Can’t say that I’m the only one who suffered this though, cause I happened to see two-three cars faltering to a stop when they encountered the sudden ‘entrance’ to the basement haha. But that’s just me, griping about it.

Daisuke Salon de Coiffure @ Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

I don’t really have much photos this time, cause my focus wasn’t too much on taking photos. But one thing I really have got to commend this salon is that they sure know how to make one feel extra comfy and right at home!

Seating is unconventional, especially for people like me who’s rather used to the ‘barber shop’ chair style. Instead of resting your feet on two ‘pedals’ stationed below the chair as per norm, each area is given a footstool. Choose whether you want to use it for your feet or *cough* your bag. There’s also a side table for other needs, like putting down your glasses and a hot drink, complimentary of course 😉

if you’re uncomfortable sitting amidst a bunch of people, there’s also private rooms where each section is partitioned off with soft curtains that obscures the prying eyes. I was fine where I was then so it doesn’t matter much to me. To top it off, I met an old friend I had not seen since his wedding a couple of years ago! Small wonder he recognized me when I barely recognized him lol.

You can choose your hairstylist by the way. I selected Amanda based on Arisa‘s recommendation and I admit I like her way of thinking! No hardsell whatsoever, and I sincerely detest those who attempts to shove a whole big bunch of products that are supposedly ‘good for my skin and hair’ down my throat (and wallet!). Not only that, she taught me simple steps in maintaining my hair with minimal to absolutely NO hair styling products involved. Amazing, eh?

Oh one thing I really got to talk about (but didn’t have photos of it cause it was rather dark) is the ‘washing’ station. Brick walls were used as partition between each station, which is perfect if you’re the type who just wants to immerse in the massage and scrub on your scalp. Plus, no noisy chatter! It somehow manages to turn the environment volume down somewhat.

Before and After photo of my hair

Before: faded, somewhat ill-kept hair with loads of split ends
After: well trimmed, soft and supple hair with a dark purple colour treatment.

What I did based on recommendation

  • Hair trimming (needed one so badly heh)
  • Scalp treatment with CO2 water (highly recommended. I’m pretty sure you’ll love this as much as I do. I call this the scalp jacuzzi spa 😀 )
  • Colour Treatment in Purple (it’s obvious under direct sunlight, but not when it’s dark)

What I plan to go for in future

  • Hair trimming (this needs to be a routine!)
  • Scalp or hair treatment, I’m not sure which just yet. But I definitely want the CO2 hair treatment again for sure!

Got you curious? Check out their Facebook or Blog today. Remember to call them up or drop them a message on Facebook to book your appointment first, kays?

Coming Real Soon: Video Games Live

Yep you read it right. Video Games Live (VGL) is coming real soon to KL! 😀

Video Games Live at Kuala Lumpur

After several hiccups last year due to unforeseen circumstances, VGL had to be postponed to the following year. But it looks like everything is all geared up and ready to go again (fingers crossed there won’t be anymore ‘out-of-our-control’ mishaps this time!)

When: 27 February 2016

Mark your calendars, get your e-tickets ready, cause VGL is coming real soon! 😀

Video Games Live at Kuala Lumpur

Location: Stadium Negara

I am actually looking forward to this year’s location for VGL, honestly. Mind you, I’m no big fan of crowded areas (i’m such a claustrophobic) but it does seem like a pretty neat place for not just an awesome concert, but also other activities planned out for the evening (I’ll get into that in a bit!)

Pac Man Cosplay @ Sunway Pyramid

Fun Fest: Food Trucks, Cosplay, Flea Market, Awesome Music

One of the things that made me look forward for this event is not just the concert itself, but everything else that will also be there. When one combines a myriad of food trucks and video games (Yes! You can game and score some prizes on that day too) and cosplay, the results may be well worth the wait indeed. Of course, if those aren’t your cup of tea there’s always the flea market to browse through to add on to your collection at home 😉

Game On 2.0 cosplay competition at Video Games Live Kuala Lumpur

Cosplay: Game On

Speaking of cosplay, be sure to check out the contest finalists of Game On 2.0 at the stadium. Don’t forget to be polite and ask the cosplayers if they’re cool taking a pic with you or to pose for your camera. It’s always nice to ask, remember that! 🙂

Show’s over, but not the party!

Still buzzed over VGL? Join the rest of the concert-goers at Stratosphere@The Roof from 8pm onwards and continue your gaming experience with your peeps!
The party starts at Stratosphere@The Roof’s rooftop bar before heading down to where Armon and his band (VGL The Concerts opening act) will be playing live at Hide. Feeling thirsty? Check out the exclusive, Video Games Live ‘theme’ cocktails for the night!

Oh and by the way, you don’t have had to attend the concert to attend the VGL 😀 So if you have friends who couldn’t make it for the concert, invite them over for the After Party instead!

All After Party tickets can be purchased separately and open to all (download
the 11pass11 ticketing app now to purchase the tickets). Tickets are priced at RM100 each and you’ll get a ticket to the party AND a special VGL cocktails made especially for our event! How cool is that? Choose one or all four (if you have the budget to spare) from the specially crafted cocktails concocted by the bartenders at Stratosphere that’s (obviously haha) exclusive for that night only. I only know of the cocktail names, but man they sound intriguing indeed! The four cocktail names are: Devil May Cry, Running Chocobo, Arkham Night, Volgin. Which would you choose? 😀

Oh and here’s a plus! Your ticket will also get you a special deal on bottle packages for entry into Play, The Roof’s premier club. (Attention: cosplayers will get a FREE entry into Play & Hide for the night. So….what are you waiting for?)

NOTE: Stratosphere is a bar and if it’s not clear in my ramblings above, this place serves alcohol. So no underage kids, please! You gotta be 18 and above to attend this after party 😉

#VGLKL 2016

Let’s talk about the actual concert now, shall we? I won’t bore you with too many details about it but here are some excerpts I think you’d find interesting enough.

From the classics of Mario, Zelda, Halo, Final Fantasy, Warcraft through to League of Legends, the show bring you a 30 piece orchestra (our own National Symphony Orchestra of Istana Budaya), a live band (led by Video Games Live founder/creator Tommy Tallarico himself), choir and opera singer to bring the soundtracks to life!

Pssst! I heard that the Phoenix Wright OST will also grace its presence in the list above! YAY US!

This year we will not only see a band led by Tommy Tallarico himself on stage; it will also feature the famed soloist Jillian Aversa and renowned conductor Eimear Noone! They, in turn, will be supported by our very own Istana Budaya’s National Symphony Orchestra, and a choir coupled with fantastic sound, light and stage effects! To top it all off, our own home-grown band, Armon performing as the Video Games Live The Concert’s opening act.

Got you excited yet? 😉

Tickets are still available and they are priced from RM45 onwards. For more information about the concert or other events surrounding it, visit now.

Affordable. Fashionable. Hooked.

Being a thrifty shopaholic, I’m always on the lookout for great deals, bargain buys, and ‘worth it’ apparels. And trust me, nothing says awesome more than Hook Clothing.

For those who have been around long enough to recall the days of ‘blogshops’ this online boutique may sound familiar to you as “Tanks For 5” instead. Yep, they have rebranded themselves as they are now catering for more than just RM5 tank tops.

I once wrote about the top five shopping sites to look out for based on my own personal experience and review and guess what? I’m still raving about them now!

Fashion, Indie, Lifestyle. An Online Blog Shop called Hook Clothing

I had tons of fun buying from the website, and their services are quite efficient as well!
My last purchase with them was during the infamous Black Friday sales. Or, as they put it, Black FriYAY sales 😀 items were going off super cheap, and they even threw in a couple of freebies for those who managed to grab them off the website. I did snag a few myself; wasn’t too keen on snagging ALL cause well, I’m just not that mean hahahahaha.

I was amazed that delivery was quite speedy, considering that sales day tend to be over-clogged with hoards of women attempting to buy the whole shop down! But I got my package in less than a week. Kudos to the folks at Hook Clothing! 😀

Affordable Fashionable Clothing Apparels from Hook Clothing Online Blog Shop

The staff were exceptionally sweet on this. I had 22 items in my shopping cart (crazy, I know) and apparently it couldn’t fit their packaging paper well. So it was all folded up in one huge bag and then stuffed into the delivery pack.

Personally, I have no issues with it. As long as my items arrive safe and sounds it’s all good to me! But thanks for the sweet note all the same 🙂

One thing I’d like to highlight here is that most apparels at Hook Clothing cater for the Small to Medium-Small body sizes. It breaks my heart to say this but most of their tops couldn’t fit me well at the moment. I’m taking it as a challenge to work out and slim down but until then..*sobs*

Can’t say that I cannot completely fit into them, cause I can. But my unsightly blobs will be jutting out hahahahaha. So I’d rather not.

That said, loose flowing tops and their racerback tops are still fine! I have lost track on the amount of tank tops I have bought from them over the past few years (I love these tops) and they’re still pretty awesome! If you’re not sure whether the tank top suits you, just drop them a message seeking for fashion advice. I’m sure they’re willing to help out however they can 🙂

My personal advise would be to check carefully what fabric is being used for the tank top. My favourite are stretchy cotton and ribbed cotton so far!

Here’s one of the tops I had bought over the crazy Sale Day: High Neck Draped Back Tee.

Fashion, Indie, Lifestyle. An Online Blog Shop called Hook Clothing

Sadly, it’s no longer available. A pity, I would’ve loved to purchase more of this. It’s certainly a really nice loose flowy soft cotton top to wear over a hot sunny day!

Here’s me attempting to pose with the top (unglam shot cause I wasn’t able to wear makeup then due to a minor skin recovery on my face)

Hook Clothing : An online shop specializing in latest fashion tops, dresses, bottoms and indie accessories

My back felt so breezy! Hahahahaha 😛 It is still a modest top, and I would suggest pairing this up with a caged bralette or a sports bra to avoid showing off your bra hooks (unless you want to that is!) to the whole wide world when the wind blows your way. But honestly though, best buy yet!

I have tried on other tops too, like for example the Chiffon Backwing Top that I wore during the Kancil Awards night. Paired it with a pair of black palazzo pants and heeled pumps; I’m all set for the night! 😀

GangsteRock ‘Kasi Sengat” : A Movie Review

A Guest Review by Mogi (Rage)

Never have I seen an absolute garbage that is beyond comprehension. GangsteRock ‘Kasi Sengat’ is a movie by Soffi Jikan; an amazing actor but as a director…well. I can’t help but to point out the flaws almost throughout the entire movie. It has a stellar cast of amazing actors, but the film sucked. Why does the film suck? The poster sucks. The trailer sucks. Are they trying to hard or is it just plain lazy suckiness?

The editing was horrible, the cinematography is horrible, not to mention the audio editing is so fail, you can’t hear SQUAT SHIT what the fuck they are talking about. The color grading isn’t even properly done. VFX is so obvious a cut out mess. Things go left and right for no reason because the editing left a lot of plot holes and unresolved situations. The opening sequence is quickly shown in 2 minutes, complete with credits to who directed it. The editing was so fast its hard to grasp what was what. There’s this one moment they went to a mansion, and then they get out, with no explanation why do they went there and do what? Guess what? This is the final cut, it was as is, in frickin DVD, and cinemas.

They have flashback scenes but I can’t even tell if its a flashback, wrong color correction. One time they are at the city, then to kampung, I thought the guy went ‘balik kampung terus’, then they cut back to him in the same position at the city, then I realized, oh, it was supposed to be a flashback.

So what’s the story about? A guy who wants to be a rockstar getting caught in some gangster shit, I do not know why, because I can’t hear the dialogue. The flow was bad, there were scenes that were like non-existent; trying to brain the plot just killed my brain cells. There’s nothing more to say. That’s honestly what I can grasp from seeing it. Oh wait, here’s one, the guy who wants to be a rockstar picks a fight with gangsters, who represent… Jazz music. Um, what? And there’s no Jazz music either. There’s barely any ‘Rock’ singing performances in this movie, despite the title Gangsterock.

Acting wise? Well, I honestly had to say them actors participated in a horrible movie that puts their acting level close to the drain. Its nothing great. No matter how experienced they are, the characterization was too bad to handle. There was a scene where the bad guys firing a gun and the actors reacted with an… ok meh, kind of reaction. ITS A FUCKING GUN, ITS LOUD, act properly damnit!!! The characters also kept jumping from bad to good, I just honestly don’t feel to symphatize with anyone in this film. Oh, they have cameos from Chef Wan to… Zaiton Sameon!? Oh my, she’s a legend and her singing was awesome back in the 80’s 90’s… and it was severely bad in this movie. Its so bad, I don’t even recognize who is this person.

Fuck this movie.

This is the one film I kept putting my hands up in the air going, “What the fuck is this shit?!”. Its so bad and incomprehensible that this review became short because there’s nothing to talk about. In short, this is PURE SHIT.

My ratings for this film? How about buried deep below the crust of earth to the point this film doesn’t exist, that’s like -10 along the y-axis. Yes, a -10 out of 10. That’s how low it can go, it can go deeper of course, any way you want it and it’ll be a zero.

I rate this movie –10/10 overall.
